FieldJoy Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Last Updated: July 28, 2026

FieldJoy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how FieldJoy, developed and operated by Creative Stack, LLC (DBA Simple Path Studio), collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Developer Information

  • Developer: Creative Stack, LLC
  • DBA: Simple Path Studio
  • Website: simplepath.studio
  • App: FieldJoy
  • App Website: fieldjoy.app

2. Our Privacy Philosophy

FieldJoy is built privacy-first for Jehovah’s Witnesses. We believe:

  • Your data belongs to you, not us.
  • Your data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud (if you enable sync).
  • We never collect, sell, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising.
  • We collect no analytics or tracking data whatsoever.

3. Information You Store in FieldJoy

When you use FieldJoy, you create and store information locally on your device (and optionally in your personal iCloud if you enable iCloud sync). Examples include:

3.1 People Information

  • Names and notes: First name, last name, and notes you enter.
  • Optional Contacts link: A reference to a Contacts entry (we store only a reference identifier, not the full contact record).
  • Bible study tracking: Status, start date, and lesson progress.
  • Note: FieldJoy has no phone number or email address fields. If you type this into notes, it is treated as ordinary note text.

3.2 Location Information

  • Address fields: Street address, city/locality, state/region, postal code, country.
  • GPS coordinates: Latitude and longitude (used to support geographic features such as sorting or searching by proximity).
  • Notes: Location descriptions and visit history.

3.3 Visit and Conversation Records

  • Visits: Dates, times, outcomes, follow-up schedules, and associated conversations.
  • Conversations: Notes, Bible study details, topics discussed, publications shared.

3.4 Plans, Tags, and Settings

  • Plans: Plans including time blocks, stops, and collaborative group plans.
  • Tags: Custom labels you create to organize information.
  • Settings: App preferences, language settings, and notification preferences.

4. Device Permissions (All Optional)

FieldJoy may request permissions only when you choose to use a related feature. All permissions are optional.

4.1 Contacts (Optional)

  • Purpose: Import people into FieldJoy and optionally sync changes back to Contacts.
  • What we access: Name and postal address from contacts you choose to import. FieldJoy does not read phone numbers or email addresses.
  • What we store: The person’s name and address only. FieldJoy has no phone number or email address fields, so those are never stored.
  • What we don’t do: We don’t upload contacts to our servers and don’t access contacts you don’t explicitly import.
  • Where to manage: System Settings (macOS) or Settings (iOS) → Privacy & Security → Contacts

4.2 Calendar (Optional)

  • Purpose: Create and manage calendar reminders for follow-up visits.
  • Access: Used to create the events you request and to update or remove them when you change or cancel a follow-up.
  • Where to manage: System Settings (macOS) or Settings (iOS) → Privacy & Security → Calendars

4.3 Location (Optional)

  • Purpose: Help you find nearby addresses and improve location-based features.
  • When we use it: Only while you’re using the app for relevant actions.
  • What we don’t do: We do not track your location in the background and do not share it with third parties.
  • Where to manage: System Settings (macOS) or Settings (iOS) → Privacy & Security → Location Services

4.4 Face ID / Touch ID (Optional)

  • Purpose: Protect access to sensitive app data using device authentication.
  • What we store: We do not store biometric data; your device’s operating system handles this.
  • Where to manage: Enable or disable the app lock within FieldJoy. Device biometrics are managed in macOS System Settings → Touch ID & Password or iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode.

4.5 Notifications (Optional)

  • Purpose: Remind you about scheduled follow-up visits.
  • What we send: Notifications created on your device.
  • Where to manage: System Settings (macOS) or Settings (iOS) → Notifications → FieldJoy

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you store in FieldJoy solely to provide app functionality, including:

  • Managing people, locations, visits, conversations, and plans.
  • Syncing your data across your devices via iCloud (if you enable iCloud sync).
  • Creating calendar reminders (if you enable calendar integration).
  • Supporting location-based features (if you grant location permission).

We do not:

  • Collect analytics or tracking data.
  • Sell your data.
  • Share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
  • Operate servers that store your FieldJoy data.

6. Data Storage and Sync

6.1 Local Storage

  • FieldJoy stores data locally on your device.
  • Your device’s built-in security features help protect data at rest.

6.2 iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync:

  • Your FieldJoy data is synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit.
  • Apple’s iCloud Terms and Privacy Policy apply to data stored in iCloud.
  • To disable iCloud sync: System Settings (macOS) or Settings (iOS) → [Your Name] → iCloud → FieldJoy (toggle off).

6.3 Collaborative Group Plans

If you create or join a collaborative group plan:

  • Plan data is stored in a CloudKit shared zone.
  • Invitations are sent through Apple’s standard sharing, so FieldJoy does not read your contacts to invite someone.
  • Participants you explicitly invite can view and edit shared plan data.
  • Shared data includes plan name, date, time blocks, stops, and participant list.
  • Personal data such as conversation notes and visit history is not shared through group plans.

7. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

The only sharing that may occur is through Apple services you choose to use (for example, iCloud and CloudKit sharing), and only with participants you explicitly invite.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Your data remains on your device (and in iCloud if enabled) until you delete it.
  • We do not have access to your data and cannot delete it on your behalf.

8.1 Delete Your Data

You can delete data by:

  • Deleting individual records within FieldJoy, or
  • Deleting or uninstalling FieldJoy to remove local data, and (if enabled) removing iCloud data via your device’s iCloud settings.

8.2 Export Your Data

You can export your FieldJoy data at any time using the in-app export feature (Settings → Data & Privacy → Export Data).

9. Children’s Privacy

FieldJoy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. International Users

FieldJoy is available worldwide. Your data is stored locally on your device and (if enabled) in your iCloud account as determined by Apple.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, and portability. FieldJoy provides in-app tools to view, edit, export, and delete your data.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will revise the “Last Updated” date and publish the updated policy on this page.
